Sunday night was music’s best night of the year, the Grammys. My sister and I sat on the couch and watched everything form the red carpet to the performances. We watched with criticism, commenting on everything that went on. My sister’s comments were mostly raging at the singers. “What is she wearing?” “Way to lip sing” “You sound better on the radio” were phrases constantly coming out of her mouth. By the end of thing awards, we had come up with reviews of our best and worst performances on the Grammys.
Cold Play’s performance of paradise was completely off key. Every time an “ooo” was sung, his voice would crack, forcing him to sing it in a different key. Chris Brown’s performance of “Beautiful People” was not what I was expecting. I had seen him in concert just a few months ago, and in the concert the performances was a lot more entertaining. I absolutely loved Bruno Marze’s 50’s themed performance. My dad told me that when he was younger, he used to be an Elvis impersonator. I didn’t believe him at first, but after his performance, you could tell that he had been doing that act for a while. He was amazing! I couldn’t be happier for the artist everyone was cheering for, Adele. She was definitely the Grammy girl of 2012. She won a total of six awards, and preformed for the first time since her vocal surgery over 6 months ago. Although she sounded differently than she did before her surgery, she was still the best performer of the night. I wonder what next year’s Grammys will be like? Has anyone heard any rumors?
Caroline! I absolutely love this post! I liked the way you talked about you and your sister's opinions on the show instead of just describing what we all saw on TV. I always like looking at all the gorgeous dresses on the red carpet, and then watching the critiques on them later on Fashion Police. I didn't know that Bruno Mars used to be an Elvis impersonator...that's so cool! I can't wait for the Grammys next year, I'm sure it will be amazing!
ReplyDeleteCaroline, I really enjoyed this post and yours as well as Claudia's input. I was definitely thinking some of the same things Claudia said, and you certainly gave me new information about Bruno Mars. I didn't get to hear Adele singing though, so I'm kind of worried to listen now that you said she sounds different: that makes me sad. Anyway this was a well put together post.
ReplyDeleteGood Job, Taylor
