This afternoon, I went to a mother daughter tea for LJA. Before I tell you about the tea, let me explain to you exactly what LJA is. LJA is an organization, sponsored by the Symphony League, for high school girls of the area to be a débuton. In each grade, there are twenty girls from all different schools. These girls are together throughout their years of high school doing service work for their community, attending symphonies, and learning proper manners of being a lady. It might seem really boring, but LJA is actually a lot of fun! You get to hang out with your friends throughout all of the work, which makes it a lot more entertaining. Each year, there is a ball for the senior girls to be presented for their service they have done throughout their years of high school. You get to go to the balls each year, and when you are a senior, you get to be presented yourself. You get to where a long white gown, and invite 20 of friends. From wheat I have heard from former débutons, the ball is one of the best parties of the year.
So, back to the tea. The teas are probably the most boring part of LJA. There are two teas each year for the directors of LJA to get everyone together and say any news or events that are coming up. It makes it a little better being able to sit with your friends. At my table, I sat with Madison, Peyton, and Sara Alice, and our moms. After the directors made their announcements and we ate our lunch, each grade went outside to take pictures. We all excited to take pictures in our cute dresses. In 9th grade, there are 8 spots open to be in LJA. If you want to do it let me know, because it is a great experience and it looks really good on your application!
Caroline! Thats crazy, my free blog was about LJA as well and we pretty much wrote about the same stuff. Great minds think alike(:
